Building Trust, Brick by Brick
From sturdy garden walls to stylish decorative designs, our customers love the transformation we bring. Here’s what they have to say about their new brickwork!
You ask, we answer
Here’s everything you need to know about our brickwork services.
1. Height of the Wall:
• If your garden wall is higher than 2 metres, you’ll need planning permission.
• If the wall is next to a road, pavement, or footpath used by cars, it must not be taller than 1 metre without planning permission.
2. Special Areas:
• If your property is in a conservation area (an area protected for its special character) or near a listed building (a building with historical importance), you will likely need permission.
3. Boundary Walls:
• If the wall is shared with or close to a listed building, you’ll also need permission.
4. Local Rules:
• In some areas, councils have special rules (called Article 4 Directions) that remove automatic rights to build or change walls. In these cases, you’ll need to apply for permission.
If you’re unsure, it’s always best to check with your local council’s planning department before starting work.
